From Our Family Table to Yours
For more than 36 years, our family has been doing what we love most — bringing people together through incredible food.
When we came to America, we had little more than hope, hard work, and a big dream. Together, we built a small café, then a restaurant, and later a specialty deli that became a neighborhood staple. Every step of the journey taught us something valuable, but one thing never changed – our passion for creating memorable experiences through food.
Today, catering is at the heart of what we do. We transform homes, venues, and even backyards into culinary castles.
We believe that every event deserves more than a great meal. It deserves care, creativity, beautiful presentation, and a team that truly cares about each guest. Our History
1986
In 1986, in the heart of Minsk, Belarus, our head chef and founder, Boris Vaysman, opened one of the first privately-owned restaurants — a bold and innovative idea for its time.
1990
In 1990, just 2 months after arriving to America, Boris and his wife, Luda, opened Café Minsk. For many, it became more than just a place to enjoy a good meal but a true island of homey warmth and hospitality. For more than 5 years, the café delighted and hosted hundreds of guests.
2000
The next major milestone was opening La Mirage in Rolling Meadows in the early 2000s. A large restaurant that for many years, become a beloved gathering place for family celebrations, weddings, and special occasions for thousands of people. Generations of families celebrated their weddings, their kids’ weddings, and their 80th birthdays with us.
2006
Maestro Seafood & Grill opened in Northbrook in 2006 as a lunch and dinner restaurant. Specializing in fresh seafood, steaks, French entrees, and Russian banquet-style favorites, it has become a welcoming standout in the community.
2010
In 2010, Allegro Deli opened in Buffalo Grove. Known for authentic European groceries, housemade meals, fresh salads, smoked fish, and desserts. Lines out the door during peak holidays soon turned into catering requests, as people began asking us to bring our food to their own events, homes, and venues.
Today
We continue to create not just dishes, but atmosphere, memories, and celebrations that stay will people for decades.
36 years in America, and more than 40 years in the restaurant business, this is a story of family, perseverance, hard work, and delicious food.
